If any sensor drifts outside its baseline, POST can flag an error or halt the boot, helping you catch problems early before they cause damage or instability.

Updating firmware isn’t something POST should perform; firmware updates are separate maintenance tasks that require a controlled process. Calibrating at every step isn’t a standard POST activity either; calibration might be needed in certain maintenance or setup scenarios, but POST focuses on health checks and readiness, not step-by-step recalibration. Checking only LEDs is insufficient because LEDs provide limited status information and can miss underlying sensor or hardware faults.
